Trivia[]

  • The title of the volume is a reference to the Backstreet Boys.
  • There is a card turned face down under Firo's card. It is turned face-up in one of Katsumi Enami's last drawings in the book; it is a joker card, depicting the face of Lebreau Fermet Viralesque.
  • Shinta Fujimoto, the illustrator of the 2015 BACCANO! manga, drew several teaser manga pages to promote the release of 1935-D for the 51st volume of the Dengeki Bunko magazine.
  • Narita confesses in the afterword that he had at some point planned for 1935-D to be a brick of a book that would conclude the 1935 arc. However, with his grasp on Baccano! weakened in the three-year gap between 1935-D and its predecessor, he chose to err on the side of a fifth installment instead of risk forcing a weak ending.
